I’ve probably moaned before about the lack of really beautiful phones to arrive in the US, having lived in Europe for many years and being spoiled with an abundance of pink mobile devices. Read more…?
Apple has finally announced that June 29th will be the date the iPhone will be available to purchase for only $499 for the 4GB version and $599 for the 8GB monster. Okay, only isn’t the best word here as you will be locked into a contract with AT&T for two years and have to fork over an additional monthly fee.
But who cares. Sure, Apple could of really made the girly world smile with a nice pink version - but I’m sure there will be some little business at this very moment creating a whole slew of sleeves, covers and stickers for the device.

Fashion designer Julien MacDonald has done away with the dull monotone Sony Ericsson K510i version 1 and spiced things up a little with some signature florals and a few bright colours.
According to Julien “The print [he] decided to use for the Sony Ericsson K51Oi was taken from [his] spring summer 07 collection” and inspired by exotic flowers.
UK fashionistas can get it for less than fifty squid through Orange Pay as You Go. Not bad considering you’re getting a Mega Pixel Camera, MP3 player and Video Messaging to boot.

I’ve been a fan of Nokia’s L’Amour Collection since it’s inception. The ultimate girly phone in just the right shade of pink. I still favour the original. But what gadget guru doesn’t have room for an upgrade?
In addition to regular ole pink - but seriously, is there anything regular about this phone - the new collection comes in powder pink, black chrome and bronze black. As a bonus incentive, as if such a thing were needed, Nokia UK are giving away a velvet L’Amour handbag with purchase.
Now for a few of the Nokia 7373 features:
* Stylish swivel design with elaborate, tooled surfaces and embossed finishing.
* Integrated 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom and video recorder
* Nokia Xpress Audio Messaging function
* Bluetooth enabled for hassle-free, wireless connectivity
* Music player with twin stereo speakers and up to 2 GB storage capability
* Stereo widening technology

When I was five and full of girlyness I wanted a Strawberry Shortcake room. What I got was a water bed and a beach mosaic.
Mother was never much of a girl herself. She’s still wearing the same peasant skirts and flannel shirts she wore in the seventies. Doesn’t wear makeup and to this day has never owned anything pink. I’d buy this now. If I wouldn’t come off all Mariah or Anna-Nicole (God rest her soul). The Strawberry Shortcake corded phone with caller ID. From Target.

You can’t beat this little beauty for sheer sexiness. From Nokia’s one year old L’Amour Collection - the 7370 is a delicious warm amber color with brown/white floral etching and tonal leather accents. It also has a swivel design, which I’m totally into. The newer pink versions mean the price has fallen a bit on the original.
I have it in my desk. Locked to Orange. I look at it and cry at least once a day. It’s got a Nokia 6630 that keeps it company. I keep meaning to unlock the suckers and switch them to Cingular so I have something to use while I’m here. But I can’t bring myself to do it. Wireless networks in the US do not excite me. I am dead to them.

I have no idea why this is being held up against an egg. I mean, it’s probably something obvious. But my brain’s just not getting it. I look at the egg and all I can think is ‘Easter Bunny’ and ‘Australians’.
Samsung is feeling kind of sweet this month. I’m sure it has nothing at all to do with Valentines Day or a possible tie in but there we are. The new T9 is being released in pink, with lots of pretty packaging.

It’ll be on the shelves next week. In Korea. The stats on this little treat are standard. Throw in a bottle of Ryoko perfume (So THAT’s the Easter Egg) and you’re good to go.
Samsung Pink T9 Pricetag: $230ish (But only if you buy it in Korea. I’m thinking this will go up mightily, if it ever hits the States.)

It’s been, what? Ten years since I first heard Phoebe from Friends sing the Smelly Cat song. I belt it out on a regular basis and think about it whenever I see this phone. Sony Ericsson have teamed up with NTT Docomo to bring us the SO703i - A new smelly phone. But don’t worry. That’s not a bad thing. These babies smell pretty. Like flowers and cotton candy and Chanel.
How do they work? The SO703i mobile / cell phone includes a slot for replaceable scented sheets. I imagine they’re something like those dryer sheets my mother keeps telling me to use. Anyone lucky enough to get their paws on one will have eleven different scents to choose from. No news yet on whether any of those will be Chanel. If it helps, one may smell like apple pie.
Of course they’re only found in Japan right now, hence the ‘anyone lucky enough’ from above. But like most really good gadgets, if we’re good, the SO703i may eventually make it’s way to Yankee Doodle Dandy Land.

Just another goody the Japanese will be getting before us.
