Somehow I don’t think I will be wearing these items any time soon, but I love the idea. Mike and Maaike have come up with pixelated leather jewelry called Stolen Jewels.
They say the items are - “An exploration of tangible vs. virtual in relation to real and perceived value. Using Google Image Search, we browsed through some of the most expensive and often famous jewelry in the world, the resulting low-res images we found were stolen, doctored, then transferred onto leather, creating a tangible new incarnation. With the expense of the jewels and the intricacy of their construction stripped away, their essence and visual intensity are extracted.”
Just how geeky is this? Admit it, it’s a fun idea and will certainly give you plenty of attention if you were to wear them.
Not sure if you really WANT male geeky attention, mind you.
