Strawberry Shortcake Phone

Strawberry Shortcake Phone

When I was five and full of girlyness I wanted a Strawberry Shortcake room. What I got was a water bed and a beach mosaic.

Mother was never much of a girl herself. She’s still wearing the same peasant skirts and flannel shirts she wore in the seventies. Doesn’t wear makeup and to this day has never owned anything pink. I’d buy this now. If I wouldn’t come off all Mariah or Anna-Nicole (God rest her soul). The Strawberry Shortcake corded phone with caller ID. From Target.

Suzanne Somers ThighMaster Gold

ThighMaster Gold

If you haven’t gone through at least a pair of your own ThighMasters, you’re lying. I’ve had a good half dozen myself. I can’t remember if they worked. Mostly because I was 17 when I used them and at 17 who doesn’t have thighs of steel?

I’ll buy this. Because I’m a sucker and it’s pretty. And I’ll try not to break it. Because, you know, thighs of steel and all.

Breast Cancer Screening by ZTech

Z-Tech Breast Cancer Screening

It’s pink. And it could save your life. Z-Tech, a Westford, MA company, has developed a device that screens for breast cancer by measuring electrical resistance in tissue. The company, which recently completed international trials on 3,500 women, are touting the machine as a painless, radiation-free, and less costly alternative to mammography for women at high risk for the disease. A paper detailing the findings of the two year trial will be submitted later this year for peer review.

Tulip Ego Love Edition Carry Case Laptop

Tulip Ego Love Edition Carry Case Laptop

If anyone can actually track one of these little babies down do let me know. I’ve been perusing Barney’s - who have those dull and dark blue ones on the rack - with no luck. Sure, it’s not Valentines Day yet, but who can wait.

I absolutely love the Tulip Ego Love Edition Carry Case Laptop. And if I’m ever gonna pay $5000+ for a vanity laptop, it’ll be this one. The leather wrapped case gives me the same goosebumps I get when entering a Mulberry Boutique. Then there’s that stellar silver pendant. Apparently they come in a variety of colours as well. But who cares. It’s the Love Edition, after all.

Pepper Pad 3. Handheld Computer.

Pepper Pad 3

I suffer from something that feels like ADD but isn’t. It basically means I can’t sit down and relax without checking my email, perusing ebay, updating my blog and reading celebrity gossip. I like to watch t.v. and surf the net. My other half can’t stand it. I don’t care.

Que Pepper Pad. The Pepper Pad 3 is a handheld web computer that fits perfectly on the laps of ladies who just want to kick back, relax and catch the latest episode of Grey’s.

“Instant entertainment at your fingertips.” It’s pretty much just the internet. A PC without the ‘C’ functions. But if we’re going strictly for entertainment, this doesn’t really matter. There’s nothing really impressive about it except the pretty pink color. But it does have all your basics: browsing (firefox), instant messaging, journaling, music and photo libraries. And games.

I’ll probably get one. Because it’s my job.

Pepper Pad 3 Handheld Computer Pricetag: $645.

L’ Amour 7370. By Nokia.

Nokia L'Amour 7370

You can’t beat this little beauty for sheer sexiness. From Nokia’s one year old L’Amour Collection - the 7370 is a delicious warm amber color with brown/white floral etching and tonal leather accents. It also has a swivel design, which I’m totally into. The newer pink versions mean the price has fallen a bit on the original.

I have it in my desk. Locked to Orange. I look at it and cry at least once a day. It’s got a Nokia 6630 that keeps it company. I keep meaning to unlock the suckers and switch them to Cingular so I have something to use while I’m here. But I can’t bring myself to do it. Wireless networks in the US do not excite me. I am dead to them.

Nokia L’Amour 7370 Pricetag: $375

Fujifilm Finepix V10

Fuji Film Finepix V10

When I was four and still lived with my grandparents my Pa use to bring home boxes of Fred Flintstones Push Up Pops. Orange and tasty. I still love him for that. And I love this camera because it reminds me of them.

Fuji Film’s new Finepix V10 5.1MP Digital Camera boasts a 3.4x Optical Zoom, diminishes shake and blur and captures light at high light sensitivities. It also has four video games. Yup. Number Puzzle, Break Out, Shooting Game, and Maze. They’re not BTVS but they’ll do. I’m also quite drawn to the 30-frame image playback mode seen below (along with a video game capture).
